Awesome shot! There are so many things right with this shot. Everyone that's going down to the Tour de Georgia take note:

Focus? Spot on.

Composition? Just look at how the shot is framed by the road and the trees on each side and above.

Saturation? Check out those rich colors.

Contrast? The subjects (riders) just pop right out of the photo.

Depth of field? Just right. The riders up front really grab your attention. The riders in the back are so in focus to distract from the leaders, but aren't so out of focus that it breaks up the peloton. You can still tell what it is.

Lighting? The lead riders are well lit instead of hidden in shadows.

Great job!

This is a shameless self-plug of my son. I remember pedaling up hills like this 20-some-odd years ago. It's gonna be cool to watch from this end (as in, dad) over the next few years. Maybe we'll have the training wheels off by the end of the summer, eh?

This photo really has some character to it. Over the past couple of months or so, I've really grown to enjoy black and white more than I ever have before. The harsh light and shadow really makes this cycling shot more powerful than it would otherwise be.

Makes me want to stick to singletrack. I've gone flying off my mountain bike plenty of times. Dirt's gotta be a lot softer than pavement. Honestly, I've never gone down on my road bike and really don't want to.
