Stand Up Wheelies

For the occasional motorcycle reader:

If you dig motorcycles, check out Killboy. He's got literally thousands of fresh pics coming in each and every week straight from the Tail of the Dragon. I took a trip up there to shoot some street bikes myself - check'em out. I just do this stuff for fun though ;)

MS 150

The MS 150 Scenic Mountain Challenge was a blast this year. Although I was terribly out of shape, the ride and company were great. Here's a shot of the start line in Athens, TN at the Mayfield Dairy Farms (we got free ice cream after the second day). Kudos to all the guys and gals that rode from Athens to Townsend and back with me. Until next year!

Ground Control to Major Tom: More DH Flyers

NORBA Showdown at Sugar DH Expert Finals - Share It
(Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 HSM - 1/400s @ f/2.8 & ISO 400 - 70mm focal length)

Here's another creek jumper from the NORBA Sugar Mountain DH race. I would share some pics from Tsali this weekend but I didn't get to ride it due to endless rain. I managed to tackle some very wet singletrack on-site at Fontana Village. It's some pretty good stuff up there. I was surprised they had so much available (including a full service bike shop - with decent rentals if you don't wanna pack your bike up there). Some nice rock gardens and technical sections too, which should be better when dry ; ) About 15-20 miles worth of singletrack riding - all accessible by hopping on your bike from your room/cabin. Lots of stuff for kids to do too if you want to pawn them off to the crafts workshop or hillbilly mini-golf while shredding some trails. I want to go back and stay a while longer - when it's dry.

Bike vs. Girlfriend: Bike Wins.

Table-Top Drop

NORBA Showdown at Sugar DH Course - Share It
(ISO 400 - f/2.8 @ 1/400s - Sigma 70-200 @ 70mm on Rebel XT)

Here's some more downhill action for your view pleasure. I've got plenty more where this came from (and, yes, still more to come).

I'm off to Tsali this weekend (for a ride, but hopefully I'll bring back some pics). I plan on doing a lot of riding tomorrow since the ol' legs are feeling so good after last weekend's 150 mile road ride.
