Gilberto Simoni
This was the first time I ever saw Simoni in person. It's really cool to see some of these guys that I watch in the grand tours come across the pond to race.

He was slowly chugging up Nick-a-Jack here.

Glad to see the continental teams doing so well at the TDG this year. Jittery Joe's still has the best uniforms and teams cars too!
Let's take a break from racing and enjoy some wonderful art for a post.
Shot with a Panasonic FZ30, which is an excellent superzoom point and shooter - it's 12x optical zoom and optical image stabilization are awesome. It's been updated to the FZ50, which is 10.1 megapixels versus the 8 MP of the FZ30.
What are these guys talking about? Anyone up for fabricating this exchange? Comment below.
Nice shot Frank.
I caught another good shot of Phil this year on Nick-a-Jack. Although, he wasn't quite panting as hard as he was last year.

More from atop Lookout Mountain. I think he made a few photographers cry with this stunt... (*cough...Frank...*cough)...

Here's another shot of Levi on the ITT. Yes, he won the stage.
This is probably my favorite shot that I've found from what I took on Stage 4 and 5 so far. Granted, I took more than 1300 shots and have yet to sort through them all.
I went down to Centennial Olympic Park a little earlier today and scoped out the setup for tomorrow. This really is an excellent venue for a stage of the Tour de Georgia. I'm a little surprised about the lack of local promotion though. I've been all over Atlanta today and haven't seen the first hint of TDG marketing. You'd think for a race that is struggling to stay alive, it would promote this great venue IN THE VENUE. I guess we'll see what the crowd looks like tomorrow.
By the way, I'm pulling for George to take the stage. ; )
Shot with a Canon Rebel XT and Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX DG HSM; 1/500s @ f/3.2 and ISO 100. 88mm focal length.

Levi whipped by us on Nick-a-Jack and was dancing on the pedals at this first switchback. Wasn't too crowded down here but the top switchback was crazy crowded.

Why Levi received a birdhouse for winning the IIT, I'll never know.

Here's a shot of Danielson at the front of the peloton with about 4k to go on Brasstown Bald today.
For more great shots from the Tour de Georgia, head over to flickr and look at the 2007 Tour de Georgia Pool. If you've got shots from the '07 TDG, then share them on flickr and add them to the 2007 Tour de Georgia Pool.

Here's one of my shots from yesterday on the ITT. Pavel Brutt of Tinkoff is in a bit of pain up Nick-a-Jack.

Tyler's back.
Kudos to Frank over at the Tour de Georgia Blog for nabbing this great shot of Tyler. See you on Nick-a-Jack Frank . . . and Tyler.
'night.

I really dig this shot and I think its worthy for the 100th post on Cycling Shots.
Almost a year ago (April 28, 2006), I made my first post to Cycling Shots after I went to the Tour de Georgia. I'll be heading there again next week for some more cycling shots. It's been a blast and here's to a few more years of Cycling Shots!
